A press release went out on January 9, 2023, announcing that PRJUSD schools were going to be closed on Tuesday, January 10th due to the severe weather conditions. The press release also stated that January 10th was not a day for remote or hybrid instruction; there would be no classes. The school day would be made up by holding school on Friday, March 17, 2023, which was one of two days reserved on the district calendar for any days lost due to power outages or other problems.
