Welcome ~ Bienvenidos

Welcome to the family-friendly city of Paso Robles, which is located along the Salinas River among the stately oaks for which it is named and amid sprawling grasslands and beautiful vineyards.

Paso has been identified as one of the best small towns in the nation in which to live as well as a favorite vacation destination. We are close to a major university (Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo) and an easy drive from Morro Bay, Hearst Castle, and several beaches to include Avilla, Pismo, and Shell Beach.

Paso Robles is, in many ways, a traditional small town. Still, new industries are looking to move here. The community seeks to balance new growth and maintenance of its unique historical traditions, such as the annual Pioneer Day Parade in October and the annual California MidState Fair. Ours is a diverse community with opportunities for all to find work, start a business, reside, be entertained, and raise a family.

The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District enrolls over 6,000 students in award-winning schools, including national recognition in Career Technical Education programs, Advanced Placement, Dual Immersion, Journalism, Agriculture, Visual and Performing Arts, Athletics, as well as many more programs to provide a well-rounded education to our youth. We have a single comprehensive high school, which is in many ways the community’s pride with the motto, “Once a Bearcat, Always a Bearcat.”  We also have one junior high, five elementary schools, and a highly acclaimed Dual Immersion Program that is currently exploring expansion through 7th and 8th grade. The Paso Robles Joint Unified School Districts also supports an alternative high school, an independent study/homeschool program for all grades, and an inclusive Early Learning Academy.
