What is Parent University/ ¿Qué es la Universidad de Padres?
The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District (PRJUSD) values parents' and guardians' active role in their student's education. To support this important relationship, the district seeks to educate and empower families as partners, advocates, and lifelong educators in their student's education through free courses, resources, events, and activities.
Throughout the 2024-2025 school year, PRJUSD will offer free workshops on various educational topics so parents and guardians can better support their student's learning. Research indicates that when schools work with families to support education, students perform better in school and throughout life.
El Distrito Escolar de Paso Robles (PRJUSD, por sus siglas en inglés) valora el papel activo de los padres y tutores en la educación de sus estudiantes. Para apoyar esta importante relación, el distrito busca educar y empoderar a las familias como socios, defensores y educadores de por vida en la educación de sus estudiantes a través de cursos, recursos, eventos y actividades gratuitos.
A lo largo del año escolar 2024-2025, el distrito ofrecerá talleres gratuitos sobre diversos temas educativos para que los padres y tutores puedan apoyar mejor el aprendizaje de sus estudiantes. Las investigaciones indican que cuando las escuelas trabajan con las familias para apoyar la educación, los estudiantes obtienen mejores resultados en la escuela y durante toda la vida.
PARENT UNIVERSITY MODULES
The 2024-2025 Parent University has four modules: 1) Parent Engagement, 2) Parent Empowerment, 3) Understanding Curriculum & Instruction, and 4) English Language Learner. Parents/Caregivers can earn a certificate of recognition after completing an entire module. The certificate will recognize the engagement and completion of three sessions (one module). You must complete a minimum of three sessions in the same module to receive the certificate of recognition of that module.
La Universidad de padres 2024-2025 tiene cuatro módulos: 1) Participación de padres 2) Empoderamiento de padres 3) Comprensión del Currículo e Instrucción 4) Dominio de idioma de inglés. Los padres/cuidadores tendrán la oportunidad de conseguir un certificado de reconocimiento después de completar un módulo completo. El certificado reconocerá la participación y finalización de tres sesiones o sea, un módulo. Debe completar tres sesiones en un mismo módulo para recibir el certificado de reconocimiento de ese módulo particular.
