Michael Susank Appointed Principal of Paso Robles High School

Paso Robles Joint Unified School District is proud to announce the appointment of Michael Susank as Principal of Paso Robles High School, following his service in the interim role.
Since stepping into interim leadership, Susank has provided steady guidance, fostered strong relationships with students and staff, and supported continued academic and extracurricular excellence at Paso Robles High School. His appointment reflects the District’s confidence in his leadership and commitment to the Bearcat community.
“Mr. Susank has demonstrated thoughtful leadership throughout his time as interim principal, earning the trust and respect of students, staff, and families alike” said Jennifer Loftus, Superintendent of Paso Robles Joint Unified School District. “His commitment to academic excellence and positive campus culture makes him exceptionally well-suited to lead Paso Robles High School forward. We are confident that under his leadership, Bearcats will continue to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.”
During his time as interim principal, Susank has focused on:
- Maintaining a campus environment that is both physically and emotionally safe for all
- Ensuring that classroom practices and policies are in place that empower all students to grow
- Building a campus culture that optimizes the many gifts of our outstanding staff
“I am truly honored to serve Paso Robles High School as principal and to continue working alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families, and outstanding students” said Susank. “PRHS is a special place with a strong tradition of excellence and Bearcat pride. I look forward to building on the positive momentum we’ve created together and ensuring every student feels supported, challenged, and prepared for success beyond high school.”
Prior to Susank’s appointment as PRHS Assistant Principal and Athletic Director in June of 2025, he served as Principal at Mission College Preparatory in San Luis Obispo. Prior to that, he held the position of Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs at Garces Memorial High School in Bakersfield, CA. In college, Susank was an NCAA national champion and three-time All-American in the Hammer Throw for Claremont McKenna College.
The District looks forward to the continued momentum at Paso Robles High School under Susank’s leadership as the school advances its academic programs, student supports, and community partnerships.
