Book Vending Machines Bring a New Twist to Literacy at PRJUSD Schools [New Times SLO]

Forget chips and candy! As reported by New Times SLO, PRJUSD is bringing book vending machines to eight Title I schools, giving students the opportunity to earn golden tokens for positive behavior, achievements, and good choices, then redeem them for books they can keep. Funded through federal Title I carryover funds, the initiative builds on the success of a book vending machine already in use at Winifred Pifer Elementary School. The goal? Put more books into students' hands and make reading something worth celebrating!
